Problems with payment terminals can be frustrating, but with Easytransac's best practices and back-up solutions, you can minimize interruptions and continue to offer a smooth service to your customers.
Why did the transaction fail?
There may be several reasons why a transaction fails. First, check your payment terminal's Internet connection. Make sure it is connected to the Wi-Fi or mobile network. If the terminal doesn't connect, try restarting it and reconnecting to the network.
Then there could be a problem with the customer's bank card. The card may be damaged or deactivated. To check this, try swiping another card to see if the problem persists. It's also possible that the card has reached its payment limit, which can be resolved by asking the customer to check this with their bank.
What to do if the TPE doesn't work?
If your payment terminal doesn't work, the first thing to do is restart it. Disconnect the battery, wait a few seconds, then reconnect it and switch the terminal back on. This often solves temporary problems.
It's also important to make sure your terminal's software is up to date. Updates can correct bugs and improve device stability. If the problem persists, we recommend that you contact your VSE supplier's customer service department for assistance.
Why is payment refused when the customer has money?
A payment can be refused for a number of reasons, even if the customer has money in his account. First, check that the information entered is correct, such as card number and expiry date. It may also be that the customer's available balance is insufficient, even if he thinks he has enough money. Ask them to check this with their bank.
Technical problems or temporary restrictions at the customer's bank may also cause payment refusals. In such cases, customers should contact their bank to resolve the problem.
